How the championship works
The season runs from September to the end of May, and matches are played on Saturdays. A team entering for the first time starts in division 5. Finish first or second in your series and you move up a division the following season.
Who plays in ABSSA?
Amateur and corporate football, at every level. Many teams form among colleagues, among friends, or within a community. Most are not looking for high-level players: turning up regularly, on time, and being good to play alongside usually counts for more.
Joining a team
Teams recruit all year round, and especially mid-season when a squad thins out. Those calls currently circulate on forums and Facebook groups, where they are hard to find again. Fiftee gathers them in one place: create your profile, set your area and level, and let nearby teams find you.
Affiliating a club, entering a team
Affiliation goes through the Royale ABSSA secretariat before the season starts. A newly entered team begins in division 5. The official documents — sporting regulations, affiliation forms, board contact details — are published on the association’s own site.
